<p>Global superstars Shakira and The Weeknd have joined the advisory board of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative launched ahead of next year&rsquo;s 2026 FIFA World Cup to expand access to education around the world.</p>
<p>They join a group of high-profile figures from across entertainment, sport, and business, including Ivana Trump, Hugh Jackman, Gianni Infantino, Hugh Evans, and Serena Williams, to support the fund&rsquo;s efforts to mobilize resources and drive global engagement.</p>
<p><strong>Raising USD 100m for Global Education</strong></p>
<p>The initiative aims to raise $100 million to help fund schooling for 100,000 children in more than 200 communities worldwide. The first group of grantees is expected to be announced in early 2026.</p>
<p>Global Citizen said the partnership with FIFA comes at a critical time, with an estimated 350 million children currently out of school worldwide.</p>
<p><strong>Global Citizen to Produce 2026 World Cup Half-Time Show</strong></p>
<p>Global Citizen will also produce the World Cup 2026 Final Half-Time Show, with creative input from Coldplay&rsquo;s Chris Martin. The artist lineup will be revealed closer to the event.</p>
<p>The show is expected to spotlight the campaign&rsquo;s message of education and equality, combining global pop culture with social impact.</p>
<p><strong>A Global Moment of Unity</strong></p>
<p>Set to be one of the most-watched sporting events in history, the 2026 World Cup is being framed as more than a football tournament. FIFA and Global Citizen say the collaboration aims to use the event&rsquo;s vast global platform to promote access to education and inspire collective action.</p>
