<p>With those opening lines on Khatfoony, Bader Elramly transformed less than a minute of verse into one of the summer&rsquo;s defining hits. The track&rsquo;s East-meets-West rhythm and contagious energy quickly captured listeners&rsquo; attention, turning Elramly from a rising name into one of the region&rsquo;s most talked-about new voices.</p>
<p>For the London-born rapper with Eritrean and Egyptian roots, the success of Khatfoony was more than just a viral moment; it was a breakthrough. What began as a spontaneous studio session with Amr Diab became the collaboration that introduced his voice to millions and marked a turning point in his career.&nbsp;</p>
<p>From a spark of belief on a London train in 2015 to sharing the spotlight with one of the Arab world&rsquo;s biggest icons, Elramly&rsquo;s story is one of resilience, authenticity, and the determination to turn life&rsquo;s struggles into music that resonates across borders.</p>
<p><strong>NileFM sat down with the rapper and singer to talk about the hit that changed everything, and what&rsquo;s next for one of music&rsquo;s most promising new stars.</strong></p>

<p><strong>You have roots in different places; can you tell us about your background and how your music journey began?</strong><br />My mother is Eritrean, my father is Egyptian from Alexandria, and I was born and raised in London. I also spent a lot of time in Paris around 2021&ndash;2022. My journey really started in 2015. I&rsquo;ll never forget stepping off a train in London and suddenly feeling this rush of belief. I thought, why can&rsquo;t I make it in music? That moment lit the fire in me.</p>
<p><strong>You&rsquo;re known for rap, but your sound seems broader; How would you describe your musical identity?</strong></p>
<p>Rap was my starting point; it gave me a voice. But I grew up listening to everything; rap, rock, disco, and beyond. I don&rsquo;t want to be boxed in. My next project will show people it&rsquo;s much bigger than just rap.</p>

<p><strong>Tell us about how Khatfoony with Amr Diab happened?</strong></p>
<p>It was completely unexpected. I&rsquo;d kept my music journey quiet around Amr. One day, I ran into him by chance in a sauna with my friend Karim. He asked why I was still in Egypt, and I told him I was finishing my album. A week later, singer Jana called and said Amr wanted me in the studio.</p>
<p>I thought I&rsquo;d just be offering ideas, but when Amr came out of the booth, he looked at me and said: &ldquo;Yallah, it&rsquo;s your turn.&rdquo; It was do-or-die. I stepped in, did my verse, and the rest is history.</p>
<p><strong>Why do you think the song connected so strongly with fans?</strong></p>
<p>The chorus is insanely catchy, but more importantly, it&rsquo;s real. We weren&rsquo;t writing fiction. We were writing from pain and turning it into joy. That honesty resonated with people. My verse in English also created a bridge between East and West, which reflects what&rsquo;s happening in music and culture right now.</p>

<p><strong>How did it feel to watch the track trend across the summer?</strong></p>
<p>Honestly, surreal. I knew we had something special, but seeing it take off was overwhelming. Collaborating with Amr was already a dream, and doing it alongside Jana, someone I&rsquo;d wanted to work with for years, made it even more meaningful. My family being proud was the best part.</p>
<p><strong>Working with Amr Diab is huge; what&rsquo;s the biggest lesson you took from him?</strong></p>
<p>His belief in me. Even before hearing much of my music, he trusted I could deliver. That kind of faith pushes you to rise to the moment.</p>

<p><strong>What can fans expect from you next?</strong></p>
<p>My debut project is coming very soon. It&rsquo;s the full picture of who I am! Rap, yes, but also everything else I&rsquo;ve been building.</p>
<p><strong>What&rsquo;s the biggest lesson the industry has taught you so far?</strong></p>
<p>Trust yourself. No one else can bring to the world what you can, in the way only you can. Perfect your craft, silence the doubts, and keep moving forward. Even when you fall, you get back up stronger.</p>
<p><strong>Where do you see yourself in the next few years?</strong></p>
<p>I see myself touring worldwide, collaborating across cultures and languages, and learning new instruments to expand my stage presence. My goal is to keep building bridges between East and West and, inshallah, make Egypt proud along the way.</p>
