The casting of James Gunn&rsquo;s "Superman: Legacy" has begun, with many high-profile names leading the list of contenders for the iconic roles of Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and the villain Lex Luthor.
&ldquo;Superman: Legacy&rdquo; is going to build the foundation for the new chapter of the DC extended universe, under the leadership of ex-Marvel director James Gunn, and producer Peter Safran, who announced their plans to make significant changes to the DC Universe, which included some serious shakeups of the DC heroes cast who played the iconic characters in the early stages of the DCEU.
Naturally, Clark Kent is one of the most sought-after roles at the moment, so it&rsquo;s no surprise that big names, such as &ldquo;Euphoria&rdquo; star Jacob Elordi who is reportedly after the role, even though according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/superman-legacy-cast-james-gunn-1235486603/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>, Elordi didn&rsquo;t submit himself to the role till now.

&nbsp;Other actors such as Tom Brittney, Andrew Richardson, and David Corenswet are also on the list of contenders to play the Kryptonian, meanwhile, Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan, and Samara Weaving are the frontrunners to play the red-haired reporter, and Superman&rsquo;s love interest, Lois Lane.
As for the villain, the British actor Nicholas Hoult is reportedly one of the main contenders to play&nbsp;Lex Luthor. Hoult is known for his role as Hank or Beast in the &ldquo;X-Men&rdquo; series, and Nux in &ldquo;Mad Max: Fury Road&rdquo;.
&ldquo;Superman: Legacy&rdquo; is set to be released on the 11th of July, 2025, and it will focus on the early of the beloved Kryptonian superhero, his aristocratic heritage, and his midwestern upbringing as Clark Kent.
