Every year, prank shows bring families together in shared laughter, becoming a staple of entertainment. But have you ever wondered who pioneered Egypt&rsquo;s very first prank show?
In 1983, legendary actor Fouad El Mohandes introduced Egyptian audiences to the Hidden Camera format, making history&nbsp;as the country&rsquo;s first prank show host. However, the real masterminds behind the pranks were artists Ismail Youssef and Mohamed Gabr, who carefully orchestrated each trick behind the scenes.
With the production set in motion, the only remaining decision was selecting a host. Ismail Youssef suggested Fouad El Mohandes for the role, as their families shared a close bond. At first, El Mohandes was reluctant to take on the project. However, after watching some of the pre-recorded segments and enjoying the spontaneous reactions of unsuspecting participants, he was convinced and agreed to be the face of the show.

In his introduction to the program, Fouad El Mohandes explained:
"The program I&rsquo;m presenting today is called Hidden Camera. We conceal the camera, and the audience becomes the star. We don&rsquo;t use actors&mdash;we place an unsuspecting person in a particular situation. This type of show isn&rsquo;t new; it exists in America, England, and France, airing daily and weekly. But we&rsquo;re adding our touch, focusing on how the audience reacts in different situations."
With that, Hidden Camera&nbsp;became a beloved staple of Egyptian television, paving the way for generations of prank shows to follow. Today, prank shows&nbsp;remain a cherished part of Ramadan entertainment, proving that laughter truly has no expiration date.
