After nearly two years of military service, the world&rsquo;s biggest K-pop group is finally ready to reunite. On Wednesday, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were officially discharged from South Korea&rsquo;s mandatory military service, marking a significant milestone in the group's long-awaited return.
&ldquo;Thank you to the fans and reporters who came to see us,&rdquo; Jimin said. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s been a long time, from the pandemic to military service. Now that we&rsquo;re back, we&rsquo;ll work hard to show you what we&rsquo;ve prepared.&rdquo;
Jungkook added, &ldquo;There were a lot of unforgettable moments. Thanks to everyone who served with us and supported us along the way.&rdquo;
Jimin also gave fans a glimpse of what&rsquo;s to come: &ldquo;Now that I&rsquo;m discharged, I think it&rsquo;s time for us to continue drawing the picture we had in mind. We&rsquo;ll prepare well and share it with you soon.&rdquo; He concluded with a heartfelt message: &ldquo;Military life wasn&rsquo;t easy, but I&rsquo;m grateful for the memories. If you see a soldier on the street, a warm gesture can mean a lot.&rdquo;

Who Has Completed Military Service in BTS?
As of now, five out of the seven BTS members have completed their mandatory military service. Jin, the eldest member, was the first to enlist in December 2022 and was officially discharged in June 2024. J-Hope followed in April 2023 and is set to complete his service in October 2024. Meanwhile, Jimin, Jungkook, RM and V all enlisted in December 2023. As of June 11, 2025, Jimin and Jungkook have officially completed their service, while RM and V are expected to finish around the same time. This brings the total to five members&mdash;Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin and Jungkook&mdash;who have completed or are about to complete their service. Suga, who began his alternative social service in September 2023 due to health reasons, is expected to finish by June 2025. Therefore, all seven members are either finished or nearing the end of their service, setting the stage for a full group comeback in the near future.
What&rsquo;s Next for BTS?
While the group has been on pause since 2023, Jin has kept the momentum alive with his successful solo releases.
