According to a statement issued by Egypt&rsquo;s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Smith toured the Giza plateau to explore the site&rsquo;s archaeological and historical significance. He was received by Dr Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, who briefed him on the area&rsquo;s key monuments, major discoveries and the wider legacy of ancient Egyptian civilisation.
During the visit, the actor showed close interest in the historical details presented to him, engaging with explanations about the monuments and their cultural importance. Officials said he expressed admiration for the richness and depth of Egypt&rsquo;s ancient heritage.
Smith was accompanied by Ashraf Mohie El-Din, Director General of Giza Antiquities, on a guided tour inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, where he explored its internal chambers and corridors. He also took commemorative photographs and praised the scale and ingenuity of the ancient structures, describing them as a remarkable achievement in human history.
The actor reportedly told officials that he intends to return to Egypt in the spring with his family for another visit.

NileFM sat down with Sherif Osama to dive deeper into his journey, his philosophy of doing what he loves, and the musical identity that makes listeners want to follow him.
Let&rsquo;s start with an introduction. Who is Sherif Osama, and how would you describe your musical identity as a DJ? I&rsquo;m Sherif, and I just joined the 40&rsquo;s club. I worked in the tourism sector, marketing and advertising, and now I&rsquo;m working in hospitality and nightlife. I manage a club. Well, about my musical identity, I would describe it as diverse. I love playing all kinds of electronic music. I like to mix genres and play different styles to make things more exciting. I think it would be difficult to classify my musical identity into one genre; it&rsquo;s a mix of genres.

Can you take us behind the scenes of one of your favorite sets? What goes into building the perfect vibe? It was a random set I went to a friend&rsquo;s party one time, and I wasn&rsquo;t prepared at all. I only had my USB stick with me, no headphones, and I managed to play a 4-hour set, which I believe was one of my favorite sets! To build the perfect vibe, I think you have to read the crowd and be prepared with music that fits the party to be prepared and read the crowd mainly. Music taste is very personal. How do you decide what makes it into a Sherif Osama set? I always play what I love, so when I listen to a track that I really like, I try to imagine it with other tracks I like, so eventually when it&rsquo;s time to play, I already have a list of tracks I like, so I play them and mix them all together, hoping the outcome is good. Most of the time I&rsquo;m happy with the outcome.

Is there a particular track, genre, or moment in your sets that you feel really represents you as an artist? I think all of my music represents me. As I said, I play all kinds of stuff, and I mix genres. Every track I play almost represents me. What has been the biggest challenge you&rsquo;ve faced so far in your DJ journey, and how did you overcome it? I think the biggest challenge is to stay positive and stay away from negative people and focus on what you love. For me, music always makes me feel better and has always helped me in overcoming a lot of stuff in life. What&rsquo;s next for you after this week on NileFM?  Let&rsquo;s start from the beginning. When did you first feel drawn to acting, and why did you choose this path? Since I was a child, my eyes would light up whenever I watched movies on TV or in the cinema. That world felt very far away from me, but I was always fascinated by it. I decided to start with commercials because I wanted to be on TV like the girls I used to see. I searched, attended casting calls, and tried to understand what a &ldquo;location&rdquo; even meant. I did many commercials, then started auditioning for acting roles. After some time, director Karim El Shenawy chose me and gave me my first real opportunity.

Yes, the role is sensitive, but it&rsquo;s also part of a unique and special project.
How did you build the character and the accent, especially since it&rsquo;s different from you? I love traveling because it helps me collect characters in my head. Egypt is full of cultures. I had traveled to Fayoum during Ramadan, and shortly after that, I was asked to do an audition that required a slightly rural accent. From there, it was all about studying and preparation. I still feel I need to learn more accents and cultures.

Were you afraid the accent or the character wouldn&rsquo;t turn out as you imagined? I was terrified. I always tell myself that one day I&rsquo;ll get the accent right, and another day I won&rsquo;t. I kept listening closely to how people speak and paying attention to their expressions and rhythms.

Despite that, I insisted on doing the audition while wearing a cast and standing on one leg. I was literally hopping; it was very risky, and I wasn&rsquo;t even supposed to leave the house. All thanks go to Mr. Karim for believing in me, to Mody Shaheen for nominating me, and to the Frame team who always supported me.

Away from the decks, I&rsquo;m a curious person who&rsquo;s always been deeply connected to music. As an artist, I&rsquo;d describe myself as someone who focuses on emotional energy and storytelling through music. My style blends melodic depth with uplifting drive. Melodies play a big role in my tracks because they help me tell stories through music and create journeys people can genuinely feel and connect with.
When did your journey into DJing begin, and can you recall the moment you realized it was becoming more than just a hobby?
My journey into DJing began after I listened to a Year Mix in 2013 as I remember for the first time. I was fascinated by how all these different tracks blended together so smoothly, and I became curious about the craft behind it how transitions work, how energy flows, and how a story is built through music. That curiosity pushed me to start learning more about mixing, with the help and guidance of a few close friends who were already in the scene.
The moment I realized it was more than a hobby was when people I didn&rsquo;t personally know began connecting with my music, sharing how it made them feel. That was when I understood this was something I wanted to commit to on a deeper level.
What was it about DJing that truly drew you in? Was there a particular sound, experience, or artist that sparked that connection?
What drew me in was the emotional side of DJing. There&rsquo;s something magical about controlling the flow of energy on the stage, building tension, releasing emotion, and seeing people respond to the vibe in real time. That hits different; it&rsquo;s a language without words.
I&rsquo;ve always been deeply connected to melodic trance music, and I love introducing it to the crowd and seeing how much they enjoy experiencing it live.
Particular artist? I&rsquo;d say Armin van Buuren played a huge role in inspiring me. I grew up watching him shape the trance scene for decades and host unforgettable events around the world. He definitely sparked something in me and motivated me to start DJing.
How did you come to define your musical identity? Did your style develop organically over time, or was it shaped by specific influences and experiences?&nbsp;
My style developed very organically. Over time, through listening, experimenting, and playing different sets, my identity slowly became clearer. Of course, experiences and certain moments shaped it, but I never forced a specific direction it naturally found its way.&nbsp;

You&rsquo;ve been named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week. What does this recognition represent for you at this point in your career?
This is actually my fourth time being named Nile FM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week, and it remains a very meaningful milestone for me every single time.
I grew up listening to NileFM I still remember studying for my high school exams with the station playing in my ears all the way. It has always been a part of my daily life and my early connection to music.
So having my music and sets featured on the same radio station I grew up listening to carries a very special meaning. It feels both nostalgic and motivating, a reminder of how far my journey has come, and an encouragement to keep pushing forward and evolving as an artist.
Every creative journey comes with its challenges. What have been some of the biggest obstacles you&rsquo;ve faced, and how have they shaped you as a DJ?
One of the biggest challenges I&rsquo;ve faced throughout my journey has been balancing my full-time career as an engineer with my passion for DJing.
Engineering is a demanding field and requires a lot of time, focus, and responsibility, and that naturally made it difficult at times to fully commit to music the way I wished to. DJing has always been more of a passion than a profession for me, so finding the right balance between both worlds wasn&rsquo;t always easy.
But this challenge shaped me in a positive way. It taught me discipline, patience, and how to manage my time more intentionally. It also made me value every opportunity I get in music even more because whenever I step behind the decks, I know I&rsquo;m doing it out of pure love for the craft.
Is there a set you particularly enjoy performing? What makes it special to you, and is there a story or moment linked to it that still resonates?&nbsp;
Yes, one of the sets that will always stay special to me was a performance I played in Hurghada.
What made it memorable is that everything happened very spontaneously. The opportunity came suddenly, and I wasn&rsquo;t fully prepared for it in advance, but once I started playing, everything just flowed naturally. The set turned out great, the energy felt right, and the crowd was truly enjoying the music.
It was one of those moments where you feel completely connected to the people and the atmosphere around you. We shared a really beautiful time together, and that experience still resonates with me today.
When you&rsquo;re building a set, how much is planned, and how much is guided by the energy of the crowd in the moment?
I usually prepare a general direction and musical story beforehand, key transitions, mood progression, and certain tracks I know will anchor the set. But a big part of it remains flexible and guided by the crowd&rsquo;s energy. Reading the room is essential. Sometimes the moment calls for more intensity, sometimes for deeper emotion, and that spontaneity is what keeps every set unique.
Where do you find inspiration today? Whether through music, personal experiences, or other artists, what continues to fuel your creativity?
For me Inspiration comes from many places. Music itself, life experiences, emotions, travel, conversations, and mostly quiet reflective moments.
I&rsquo;m also inspired by other artists who push creative boundaries, as well as by the support from listeners and communities who connect with my tracks and sets. That connection continues to fuel my creativity.

My biggest advice to upcoming DJs is: have your own style.
Nowadays, a lot of music can sound very similar, so your sound is what makes you stand out. Don&rsquo;t just follow trends, build a musical identity that truly reflects who you are. Work on improving your mixes, your transitions, and your track selections, because quality always finds its way to the right ears.
And most importantly, be patient. Great things don&rsquo;t happen overnight unless you&rsquo;re really lucky, in which case please tell me your secret

First of all, let&rsquo;s get to know you better. How old are you, and how did your journey with music begin? My name is Moamen Mohamed, and I&rsquo;m known in remixes and songs as Moamen Moa. I started working on remixes in 2018, but honestly, I&rsquo;d been trying to learn much earlier, when I was around 11 or 12 years old. It wasn&rsquo;t easy at all back then; there were no tutorials or clear resources to learn from. I was a big fan of mahraganat music and always dreamed of making it myself. In 2018, I seriously started learning and working, teaching myself through YouTube and a lot of practice.

How did the idea of turning the song into an Egyptian-style remix come to you? I first came across the song on TikTok at the beginning of August in foreign videos. I really liked the rhythm and immediately felt it could work perfectly as an Egyptian mahragan. I went straight ahead and executed the idea, then uploaded it to YouTube, but that was about four months ago. Why did you choose &ldquo;Jealousy&rdquo; by Khalil Harrison and Tyler ICU specifically? I chose the song because I liked its style a lot, and I felt it was a perfect fit to be turned into a popular Egyptian mahragan. Is this your first remix experience, or have you worked on similar projects before? No, this isn&rsquo;t my first experience at all. I have many remixes that went viral before, but I just didn&rsquo;t have the luck or opportunity to really break through with them. For example, my remix of &ldquo;Ana Wenta Etneen&rdquo; by Hakim was trending for a while, and the &ldquo;Mohareb Kafa&rdquo; remix has been trending at weddings and summer events for about two years now, along with many others. The song surpassed 200,000 views on YouTube and was used by celebrities and public figures. When did you realize it had truly become a trend? I really felt it became a strong trend when I saw artists themselves enjoying it and posting videos using it. There&rsquo;s a difference between a trend that just passes and one that sticks, and I was very happy when I saw that this one really connected with people. What was the most surprising or touching reaction you received after the remix spread? The reaction that affected me the most was my mom&rsquo;s. She gets so happy when she sees me creating something that everyone is talking about. Did you expect this level of success, or was it a complete surprise? Honestly, I didn&rsquo;t expect it at all. I uploaded it four months ago, and no one really knew about it except my friends and me, so it was a big surprise.

Are there upcoming projects with the same Egyptian style applied to global songs, or are you planning to focus on original music? A lot is coming; I&rsquo;m still at the beginning, God willing. I&rsquo;m working on many foreign and Egyptian remixes, and at the same time, I receive a lot of private work requests. Most of them are from Cairo, while I&rsquo;m based in Alexandria, so that&rsquo;s really the only obstacle.

I grew up listening to classical Arabic and oriental music every day at home; my father used to play it constantly, and it deeply shaped my ear and emotional connection to music. Today, when I produce, I naturally blend Arabic melodies, oriental scales, and vocals with electronic beats. It&rsquo;s not something I force; it&rsquo;s who I am.

Winning the Studio El Fann Gold Medal was a very important milestone for me. It gave me confidence in my voice and in my artistic direction, especially in Classical Arabic Tarab. That strong foundation stayed with me and continues to influence my work, even as I moved into electronic music. 4. Your journey started with traditional Arabic music before evolving into more experimental and electronic soundscapes. What pushed you to cross those boundaries? I&rsquo;ve always been curious and open to evolution. While I deeply love traditional Arabic music, I felt a strong urge to explore new soundscapes and express myself in different ways. Electronic music gave me freedom, the freedom to experiment, to blend worlds, and to reach new audiences while staying true to my roots. 5. Your latest track, &ldquo;Ya Mesafer,&rdquo; has a very emotional tone. What story or feeling were you trying to capture through this song? &ldquo;Ya Mesafer&rdquo; carries a very emotional and nostalgic feeling. The song is part of a larger work written for the legendary artist Walid Toufic, which made it very special for me. The emotion comes from longing, travel, and deep sentiment, elements that are very present in Arabic musical storytelling. 6. As a female DJ in a still male-dominated scene, how did your passion for DJing begin, and what challenges did you face at the start of your journey? From my point of view, the scene is changing, and it&rsquo;s beautiful to witness more female DJs, producers, and artists rising and doing so well. This shift is very motivating and empowering. At the beginning, one of the challenges I noticed was that male DJs often had the upper hand in lineups, especially when it came to closing slots. Other than that, I truly see a bright future and a growing balance between male and female artists in the industry.

Was there a moment early on when you felt you had to prove yourself more because you are a woman? How did you overcome that? Yes, there were moments early on where I felt pressure. At the same time, I also encountered many supportive male DJs and producers. In the end, my music spoke for itself. I may have had to prove myself at the beginning, but the quality and energy of my music did the talking. 8. How do you balance honoring classical Arabic Tarab while creating modern, high-energy sounds that speak to today&rsquo;s audiences? I am very proud of my Arabic and Oriental roots and always want to share them with the world. For me, it&rsquo;s about combining dancing electronic beats with Arabic vocals and oriental melodies. Beyond music, I feel a responsibility to show the world who Arabs truly are: great artists, poets, philosophers, and creators of history, especially in the Levant region. My music is my way of honoring that legacy while keeping it modern and alive. 9. What does it mean to you personally to be named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week, and how did you feel when you heard the news? Being named NileFM&rsquo;s DJ of the Week is a moment of great pride and joy for me. When I heard the news, I felt truly honored to be featured on Egypt&rsquo;s number one radio station, especially as a Lebanese artist. It also came with a sense of responsibility, as I created a special set exclusively for Nile FM. I&rsquo;m very grateful to my friend and a great DJ and producer, "Arrab," who shared the news with me; it was a truly happy and unforgettable moment.

From my very first production session, I started creating my own tracks. My advice to young women is: now is the time. Don&rsquo;t let anyone limit you or force you into boxes. Be yourself, show up for yourself, take courses, and go for it. Whatever makes your heartbeat with joy, don&rsquo;t hesitate, because regret is much heavier than fear.

Egyptian-British actor Amir El-Masry has revealed the emotional moment he met Prince Naseem &ldquo;Naz&rdquo; Hamed at the premiere of his upcoming biopic, "Giant," during the Red Sea International Film Festival. Speaking exclusively to NileFM&rsquo;s Big Breakfast with Nadine, El-Masry reflected on the project and the preparation behind one of his most challenging roles to date. The film is scheduled for release on 15 January 2026.
El-Masry described meeting the boxing legend as both &ldquo;supportive and surreal.&rdquo; &ldquo;He sat next to me, was very supportive, and even let me wear the WBC belt,&rdquo; he recalled. &ldquo;It felt amazing to have his approval for portraying his life.&rdquo; He added that witnessing the reactions of Prince Naseem and his family at the screening was &ldquo;humbling and motivating.&rdquo;
Known for critically acclaimed performances in "Limbo" and "The Crown," El-Masry says he chooses projects that challenge him and have purpose. &ldquo;I look for stories that can make even a small change,&rdquo; he told NileFM. &ldquo;Playing one of my heroes in "Giant" was about bringing his story to a wider audience and giving representation to communities often overlooked in mainstream media.&rdquo;
He also spoke about the demanding physical and technical preparation required to become Prince Naseem. &ldquo;We trained up to 12 hours a day, every day for a week and a half, with only active rest days,&rdquo; he explained. &ldquo;We worked on boxing choreography, cardio, circuit training, and even perfected his unique accent and style. There was a moment during training when the character finally clicked, and everything came together.&rdquo;
The film charts Prince Naseem&rsquo;s meteoric rise from the streets of Sheffield to world-championship fame under the guidance of his eccentric Irish trainer, Brendan Ingle. &ldquo;It was important to capture not just his athletic ability, but the personality and flamboyance that made him iconic,&rdquo; El-Masry added.
Working alongside screen legends such as Sylvester Stallone and Pierce Brosnan was another standout element of the experience. &ldquo;Meeting Pierce was surreal. He&rsquo;s incredibly humble; it made me feel like I was truly collaborating, rather than just watching legends at work,&rdquo; he said.

Because the atmosphere scatters blue light and lets red light pass through, the moon takes on a dramatic reddish glow; the same effect that makes sunrises and sunsets look red. Dust or clouds can make the color appear even deeper.

In a rare astronomical phenomenon, Earth is completing its rotation today, Tuesday, 22nd July, in less than 24 hours&mdash;making it the shortest day ever recorded in human history. The planet will spin 1.34 milliseconds faster than the standard 86,400 seconds, surpassing the previous record set just two weeks ago on 9th July.
Although the difference is imperceptible to most, scientists say it reflects a puzzling trend in Earth&rsquo;s rotational behaviour. If this acceleration continues, global timekeepers may need to subtract a second from atomic clocks by 2029&mdash;a historic adjustment known as a &ldquo;negative leap second&rdquo; that has never been implemented before.&nbsp;
Experts remain uncertain about the root cause of the acceleration. Theories range from shifts in the Earth's molten core and melting glaciers to atmospheric changes and a weakening magnetic field. For centuries, the Earth has been gradually slowing due to the moon&rsquo;s tidal pull. But new data from NASA suggest we may have reached a phase of orbital equilibrium, unexpectedly speeding up the planet&rsquo;s rotation.
Geologists and astrophysicists are closely monitoring the development, as it could affect everything from satellite navigation to global timekeeping systems in the near future.
